E 555 Parking Ramp

E 555 is a multi-level parking structure serving Des Moines’ East Village, built into a hillside to take advantage of natural grade changes and create three independently programmed parking levels for public, residential, and commercial users. The structure provides essential parking infrastructure for surrounding Nelson assets and neighboring developments, supporting the continued growth of downtown Des Moines.

Urbandale Business Center

Urbandale Business Center is a 115,652 square foot warehouse facility in Urbandale, Iowa, featuring high-cube storage and a pressured sprinkler system designed to support large-scale distribution and logistics operations. The development serves as a significant commercial and industrial hub in the Urbandale market.

Plumb Supply Company

Plumb Supply Company is a 33,600 square foot precast concrete warehouse expansion in Des Moines, built in phases over five months to allow ongoing operations throughout construction. The facility features dock equipment, in-floor radiant heating, and a hardened concrete slab suited for heavy-duty warehouse use.

Jeld-Wen

The Jeld-Wen project is a multi-phase, $7.7 million design-build renovation and expansion of a 225,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Grinnell, Iowa, including a 50,000 square foot structural steel addition, equipment pit installations, load-bearing wall removals, and overhead door cut-ins—all executed while the existing plant continued producing doors seven days a week. The project required extensive coordination to deliver complex construction without interrupting active manufacturing operations.

Science Center Parking Ramp

Science Center Parking Ramp is a three-story parking garage in downtown Des Moines, developed by Nelson in partnership with the Science Center of Iowa and the City of Des Moines to serve the museum’s 300,000 annual patrons and the surrounding Court Avenue Historic District. Designed to complement the museum’s architecture and meet the city’s streetscape standards, the structure is also engineered for future expansion to accommodate continued growth.

Liberty Parking Ramp

Liberty Parking Ramp is a six-story, 292-stall parking facility in downtown Des Moines, designed to blend with the surrounding urban streetscape through a facade that reads as a continuous office building rather than a conventional parking structure. The facility connects to the downtown skywalk system and serves residential, commercial, and hotel users across a multi-block footprint, developed in partnership with the City of Des Moines using Tax Increment Financing.
